Selective Catalytic Reduction

Development of the MAN SCR system began back in the late 1990's, when MAN took part in the world's first ‘field testing’ of Selective Catalytic Reduction systems. Following its series introduction in 2004, thousands of vehicles have been operating with the system successfully throughout Europe, where some EU Member States offered significant financial incentives to operators using vehicles powered with lower emission SCR engines prior to the Euro 5 deadline.

MAN's SCR technology has been proven in service to be one of the most economical Euro 5 SCR systems. There are three engine types in the SCR range with power ratings from 360 - 680 PS:

Which engines are used in which trucks?

The D2066 and D2676 engines using SCR technology are used in the MAN TGX and TGS rigid chassis and drawbar models from 18 to 44 tonnes.

The D2868 V8 is typically the engine chosen for specialist heavy haulage operations above 200 tonnes!
