Exhaust Gas Recirculation

MAN's Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) diesel engines were developed back in 1999 for the introduction of Euro 3 and further evolved for Euro4. To date, some 500,000 MAN EGR engines are operating reliably, economically and successfully world wide.

For key UK models MAN will be using EGR technology for Euro 5 engines. There are four engine types in the EGR range, with power ratings from 150 - 440 PS:

Which engines are used in which trucks?

The DO834 engines are used in the MAN TGL range of trucks, covering gross vehicle weights from 7.5 to 12 tonnes.

The MAN TGM range, which caters for medium weight applications from 15 to 26 tonnes, uses MAN's D0836 engine.

The TGX and TGS models-covering 6x2 and 4x2 tractor units along with 8x4 construction vehicles use the D2066 and D2676 EGR engines.
